ISPNO 2014, Singapore

Invitation to an open, Strategy Meeting for International Cooperations in Medulloblastoma (clinical and preclinical)“ Wednesday 2nd of July, 8.00 – 8.55 a.m. (main plenary hall, Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre)

Dear colleagues,
Through previous contacts and meetings, it has become increasingly evident that improved international cooperation will be needed to achieve further progress in pediatric brain tumors, especially in the context of the growing clinical and preclinical knowledge (risk-adapted treatment recommendations, diagnostic standard assessments, biological and clinical research, etc.). Indeed, patients subgroups will be smaller and smaller, due to biological characterization, and the merging of bio-pathological and clinical data as well common clinical trials will become more and more necessary.

We feel that the identification of the needs of interested colleagues/centers/study groups across the globe, and discussion on how to best help each other will be a useful step forward.

Therefore, we hereby invite all interested attendees of ISPNO (oncologists, radiotherapists, neurosurgeons, radiologists, pathologists, biologists, other physicians or scientists, psychologists etc.) to a brief open meeting during ISPNO 2014 in Singapore (on July 2nd from 8.00 – 8.55 a.m., main plenary hall, Suntec Singapore). Due to time limits and practical reasons, we plan to focus this meeting on medulloblastoma. Importantly, this
invitation also refers to colleagues from institutions with limited resources for clinical care and research.

Provisional agenda:

1. Short introduction and rationale for cooperations (S. Rutkowski, A. Gajjar)
2. Discussion of needs and interests for future cooperations (all)
3. Short report about experiences (E. Bouffet, S. Bailey)
4. Short presentation of the international registry I-HIT-MED (S. Rutkowski)
5. Next steps (all)

Please forward this letter to other interested colleagues, and send us any further suggestions in advance.
We thank the organizers of ISPNO for giving us this opportunity, and hope that the meeting will be fruitful.
